We are looking for a skilled Accountant with at least 1-2 years of experience working in Qatar, ideally in the interior fitout or related sectors. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in financial accounting, handling day-to-day accounting tasks, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting: Perform day-to-day accounting functions including maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, and handling payment and receipts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure that cash flow is managed efficiently and accurately.
- Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Help track expenses, revenue, and other financial data for management.
- Project Accounting: Support the project managers by tracking costs, progress, and revenue related to ongoing interior fitout projects. Ensure project-related transactions are accurately recorded.
- Invoicing & Payments: Assist in generating invoices for clients based on the completion of milestones, services rendered, and products delivered. Ensure that payments are processed in a timely manner.
- VAT Compliance: Support VAT filings in line with Qatar’s tax regulations. Ensure that VAT-related transactions are recorded and documented accurately.
- Document Management: Maintain organized financial records and assist with document preparation for audits and reviews.
- Internal Controls & Procedures: Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and local regulations, supporting senior accountants and management in the development and improvement of internal controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the interior fitout or similar sectors in Qatar.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project costing.
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with VAT laws and financial regulations in Qatar.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Preferably female candidates due to team dynamics (optional based on company preference).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the construction, interior fitout, or related industries.
- Knowledge of project-based accounting and cost management.
- Experience with local tax filing and compliance.
