We are seeking a qualified and motivated Site Mechanical Engineer to oversee and coordinate mechanical works at site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. The candidate shall have strong knowledge of plumbing and drainage systems, site execution procedures, and technical documentation. The role also includes coordination with the Technical Office for quantity surveying (QS) and project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Execution & Supervision
Supervise and monitor all mechanical installation activities at site.
Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable codes.
Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and client representatives.
Conduct site inspections and identify potential issues affecting project progress.
Verify material deliveries, installation quality, and compliance with approved material submittals.
Monitor manpower productivity and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and company safety procedures.
2. Plumbing & Drainage Systems
Manage and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of plumbing and drainage systems.
Review and verify layouts, routing, invert levels, slopes, manholes, chambers, and associated mechanical services.
Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure smooth execution.
Troubleshoot site issues related to water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems.
3. Technical Documentation & Quality Control
Prepare and submit all project-related technical documentation, including:
Request for Inspection (RFI)
Work Inspection Requests (WIR)
Method Statements (MS)
Material Approval Requests (MAR)
Technical Submittals
As-Built Drawings
Site Reports and Progress Reports
Testing and Commissioning Documentation
Maintain proper records of inspections, approvals, and project correspondence.
Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspections and approvals.
4. Drawing Review & AutoCAD
Review mechanical drawings and identify discrepancies before execution.
Prepare and update shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings using AutoCAD.
Assist in resolving site clashes through coordination with other disciplines.
5. Quantity Surveying & Technical Office Support
Assist the Technical Office in quantity take-offs and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
Measure executed works and verify quantities for progress billing and subcontractor payments.
Support preparation of variation orders, claims, and cost estimation exercises.
Maintain records of material consumption and project quantities.
6. Coordination & Project Management
Attend project meetings and provide technical input regarding site progress and challenges.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.
Track project schedules and highlight delays or potential risks affecting project completion.
