About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Marine Procurement Category Officer to lead procurement and category-management activities for assigned marine goods and services. The role will focus on strategic sourcing, contract lifecycle management, supplier performance, commercial optimization, and procurement governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end sourcing, procurement, and contract lifecycle activities for assigned marine categories.
- Develop category and sourcing strategies aligned with operational and commercial objectives.
- Lead supplier identification, prequalification, evaluation, performance management, and relationship development.
- Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, service levels, renewals, and amendments.
- Conduct market analysis, supplier benchmarking, and spend reviews to identify savings and value-improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the timely procurement of marine goods and services.
- Monitor supplier KPIs, contractual obligations, procurement risks, and corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement across assigned categories and procurement processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of marine procurement experience, including experience in a comparable role within a recognized maritime or shipping organization.
- Demonstrated capability in strategic sourcing, contract management, vendor management, and category management.
- Knowledge of marine procurement markets, vendors, regulations, and maritime operations.
- Experience within the LPG, LNG, shipping, offshore, or vessel-management sector is preferred.
- CIPS or an equivalent professional procurement qualification is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract-management capabilities.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and procurement platforms; AMOS knowledge is an advantage.
- Sound analytical, market-research, benchmarking, and cost-optimization skills.
- Strong supplier-performance and procurement-risk management capabilities.
- Effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
