Safety Officer – Permit to Work | Oil & Gas Operations
Mind Stream is hiring a Safety Officer to run the permit-to-work system and own site safety on an operating oil and gas facility. This is a full-time, site-based role focused on PTW coordination, workface verification, and closing out safety observations and incidents.
What you'll do:
- Operate the permit-to-work (PTW) system end-to-end: preparation, issuance, extension, and close-out
- Verify planned work against issued permits, risk assessments, and method statements before work starts
- Conduct routine site safety inspections and walk-downs, raising observations and near-misses
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions from audits, observations, and incidents to verified closure
- Support toolbox talks, pre-job safety briefings, and site emergency response activities as directed
What you bring:
- Hands-on experience as a Safety Officer on an operating oil and gas facility
- Strong working knowledge of permit-to-work (PTW) systems
- A valid Dukhan PTW certificate / Permit to Work authorisation for Dukhan (mandatory)
- Confidence reviewing risk assessments and method statements and flagging gaps to the originator
- Clear communicator with site supervision, operations, and contractor crews
