Facilities Engineer / Facilities Manager
Job Summary:
The Facilities Engineer/Manager will be responsible for the effective management and maintenance of all facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure. The role involves coordinating repairs, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Operations:
Oversee the daily operations of facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems to ensure optimal performance.
Preventive Maintenance:
Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for equipment and infrastructure to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation.
Vendor Management:
Coordinate with external contractors, service providers, and vendors for facility repairs, upgrades, and maintenance services.
Project Management:
Lead facility improvement projects, including renovations, system upgrades, and expansions. Manage budgets, timelines, and ensure quality control.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure that all facilities are compliant with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.
Energy Management:
Monitor and improve energy efficiency within the facility. Implement sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact of operations.
Budget Management:
Prepare and manage the facility’s maintenance and capital expenditure budgets. Track expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
For Facilities Engineer: 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance or engineering roles.
For Facilities Manager: 5+ years of experience in facility management, including leadership responsibilities.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
Knowledge of building automation systems and energy management practices.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong project management and leadership skills.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
