JD-RIGGING TEAM LEADER

Responsible for overseeing the safe lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment and materials. This leadership role bridges the gap between site management and the rigging crew, ensuring all operations meet strict safety standards like Qatar Energy or OSHA

Core Responsibilities

Operations Supervision: Lead and supervise rigging teams during routine maintenance, shutdowns, or turnaround projects. This includes activities like jacking, sliding, and replacing equipment like pumps, valves, and exchangers.

Safety & Compliance: Conduct Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks (TBT) to communicate hazards. They ensure strict adherence to Permit to Work (PTW) systems and safety procedures to prevent dropped objects. 

Technical Planning: Read and interpret complex lifting plans and technical drawings to calculate load weights and centers of gravity.

Equipment Management: Inspect and certify rigging hardware such as slings, shackles, and wire ropes to ensure they are fit for use. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in rigging, specifically within the oil and gas or refinery sector. 

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of rigging techniques, signaling, and the operation of heavy equipment like hoists and large-capacity cranes (up to 500T).

Certifications: Often requires advanced certifications, such as Rigger Level 1 (highest level) or Master/Advanced Rigger status. 

Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 

Coordination: Act as a liaison between project managers, engineers, and crane operators to ensure smooth, timely project execution
